In order to compete Musical Theater, Jazz, or Contemporary, dancers must take the Jazz and Ballet class offered for their level.
Dance is a team activity, it impacts the entire group when dancers are absent. We understand that some absences are unavoidable, however repeated absences may result in a dancer being taken out of sections of a dance or the entire piece.
Advanced notice is required if Company dancers have any kind of multi-week attendance conflict. We will need to discuss the schedule, keeping in mind that missing too many classes may result in a dancer being removed from sections of a dance or the entire piece. Private lessons can sometimes be an option but are not always possible and are not a replacement for receiving group corrections given during class or practicing in your spot in the formation with all the other dancers in your class.
Attendance in Ballet class is just as important as the choreography classes. Repeated absences in Ballet can also result dancers being taken out of sections of a competition dance or the entire piece.
Please note your attendance over the past year impacts your Company Placement.
Dancers are required to wear appropriate dance attire to class. If you are not appropriately dressed instructors can not give the necessary corrections to help you improve!
